My Testimony and Purpose for this Website
Oct 04
There are three people you want in your family; a mechanic, a hairdresser and a web developer. I am two for three. My husband is a web developer and I am FINALLY getting my website! Thank you baby!
My name is Kari and I am a young wife and mother. I have a two-year old daughter and a baby surprise due in March. I say surprise because we are not finding out the sex until the delivery!
I was born and raised in a small city in Georgia by two wonderful Christian parents that made sure I was in church from birth, well, two weeks old, but who’s counting? I was made to walk the line according the Scripture all my life. I was fortunate to have a wonderful up bringing in a godly home where, honestly, my parents never fought in my presence and lived out true, godly loves in front of me. I can count on one hand how many mistakes I saw my parents make. I have gained from them and I am raising my children by the examples my parents were. Actually, most parents today are modeling how their parents raised them, positive and negative! God has really showed me how blessed I am to have been surrounded by such purity and wholesomeness even into my adulthood. I have seen very little ugliness in my life for which I am so thankful and my number one goal in life is to show my children that very same godly example.
My husband and I celebrate our 5-year anniversary this month. We dated for 6 1/2 years and it was wonderful. We are so blessed to have really been each other’s first loves. We remained pure through our dating and we intend to teach purity to our children. Josh has seen some ugliness in his up bringing although God has saved both of his parents and did allow him to be brought up in church. That is how we met. It is really unbelievable how God brought us together because most of our dating life we were unsaved. We lived the Christian life, but we were not Christians. It wasn’t until 2002, the year we married, that God revealed to us we were playing “church” and showed us our sin. I am a people pleaser and therefore I was living my life just like my parents to have their approval. Josh and I both lived good, moral lives and each of us thought the other was a Christian so we tried to please each other by doing good. I am so thankful that God revealed to us the Truth about Himself and that we were not truly Christians. We both accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior and surrendered our lives to him. We were and still are no different than any one else that gets saved. God soon after called us into the full-time ministry. I thought he called Josh to be a preacher, but later I discovered he was calling me also, not to be a preacher, but to be a preacher’s wife. That title has much more meaning behind it than most people realize- even more than I thought. God was molding me into who He wanted me to be, and still is!
One year after our wedding we felt called to go to school somewhere for Josh to get schooling on just how to be a good preacher. Seminary was on our mind and we actually felt God was strongly calling us to the first one we visited! Seven hours away from our family and friends was not what we first expected, but we realized that it would be better for us to follow God and not our emotions. We made the right decision because God has shown us time and time again that this was indeed His plan for our lives. It is so nice knowing we are doing exactly what God has called us to do.
